Resegone Experience: Two Days Among Ridges, Sunset and Sunrise at Rifugio Azzoni

There are treks remembered for the views, others for the effort. And then there are experiences that bring all of this together in a single weekend. With the Guidders, we’ll experience one of the most spectacular traverses in the Lecco Prealps, following the entire Resegone ridge to the famous Rifugio Azzoni (1,875 m), where we’ll spend the night suspended between sky and mountains.

We’ll set off from the charming village of Erve (LC), tackling a long yet rewarding ascent toward La Passata, the gateway to the spectacular Resegone ridge. From here, a panoramic route begins, following the mountain’s jagged profile and offering continuous views of Lake Como, the Grigne, Monte Rosa, and the Po Valley.

Arriving at Rifugio Azzoni, built directly on Resegone’s main summit, will be the most eagerly awaited moment of the day. Here, together, we’ll witness one of Lombardy’s most breathtaking sunsets, with the sun slowly setting behind the Alps and painting the sky in unforgettable shades. After an evening at the mountain hut and dinner together, we’ll fall asleep surrounded by the silence of the high mountains.

Sunday will begin with an even more intense emotion: sunrise from the summit of Resegone. After breakfast, we’ll set off again, covering the final stretch of the ridges to Piani d’Erna, before completing the great loop back to Erve along nature-immersed trails.
