The adventure begins

Description

The Bishorn (4,153 m) is one of the most accessible four-thousanders in the Alps, but it would be a mistake to consider it “minor”. Here, the high altitude is experienced in its most harmonious, pure, and silent form, in a grandiose environment that offers true emotions from the very first steps. It is the ideal mountain for those who want to enter the world of 4000s or consolidate their experience along the Road to 4000 path.

Our adventure begins from the village of Zinal, in the heart of the Valais. From here, we will ascend a long and spectacular valley, becoming increasingly open, until we reach the Cabane de Tracuit, one of the most panoramic refuges in the Alps. A true suspended balcony, where the sunset lights up the great faces of the Weisshorn and Dent Blanche, creating an atmosphere that remains imprinted.

The second day starts at the first light of dawn. With crampons on, we will venture onto the glacier following a wide and regular path, surrounded by some of the most iconic giants of the Alps. The ascent is continuous but never extreme, perfect for savoring the rhythm of high altitude and moving consciously in a glacial environment.

The final ridge, gentle and luminous, leads us directly to the summit. At 4,153 meters, the panorama is simply infinite: the Bernese Oberland, Monte Rosa, the Weisshorn dominating the horizon. It is one of those moments when everything slows down and you understand why you love the mountains.

After the summit, we will return to Tracuit and then down the valley along the same route, tired but with eyes full of beauty. The Bishorn does not impress with difficulty, but with balance, atmosphere, and depth of experience. A four-thousander that truly conquers.

Road to 4000: it's not just about reaching the summit, it's about how you get there. Together with the Guidders.
