Snowshoe Hike in Piani di Artavaggio: Snowy Loop Trail with Lunch at Rifugio Nicola

Guidders, get your snowshoes ready: this time we’re heading up to the Piani di Artavaggio, one of the great winter classics in Valsassina, but we’ll do it while discovering its quieter, less-traveled side as well.

We’ll gradually leave the busiest area behind and make our way toward Casera Campelli, crossing one of the most peaceful corners of the Piani di Artavaggio. Then we’ll climb again up to Rifugio Nicola, facing the unmistakable silhouette of Monte Sodadura, one of the most recognizable mountains in this part of the Lecco Prealps.

And here comes one of the most eagerly awaited moments: lunch at the mountain hut together with the other Guidders.

After warming up and recharging our energy, we’ll head back out onto the snow to complete the loop and return once again to the cable car station.

Five hours to enjoy at an unhurried pace among snow, mountains, a mountain hut, and new people to share a winter day with.
