Snowshoe hike to Baita Iseo: dinner and an overnight stay in a mountain hut beneath the Concarena

A snowshoe hike through the silence of the forest, a cozy mountain hut at the foot of Concarena, a warm dinner, and a night to spend together in the mountains. With the Guidders, we’ll set off from Ono San Pietro, in Valle Camonica, to reach Rifugio Baita Iseo, located at 1,335 meters in one of the most charming corners of the Brescia Prealps.

Leaving the last houses behind, we’ll begin the ascent following the trail toward Concarena. If snow conditions allow, we’ll put on our snowshoes and make our way through the forest, where in winter sounds and colors seem to fade away, leaving room only for the snow, the mountains, and the rhythm of our footsteps.

Our destination will be the Rifugio Baita Iseo, a small mountain lodge with around 30 beds, perfect for turning a simple hike into a true winter weekend. Once we arrive, we’ll finally be able to take off our boots, sit down at the table, and enjoy a traditional dinner together.

The following morning, we’ll wake up right beneath the walls of Concarena. After breakfast and, if conditions allow, a short exploration around the hut, we’ll set off on the trail again to return to Ono San Pietro.
