A snowshoe hike in Val di Scalve, with snow, forests and big mountain views, under the walls of Concarena. From Fondi di Schilpario to Rifugio Cimon della Bagozza, this is winter at its best: slow steps, silence, changing light and a well-earned hot tea at the end.
We start in the morning from Fondi, in the Schilpario area, and ease into the valley’s snowy landscape. The route is generally comfortable and the pace is relaxed: about 250 meters of elevation gain, ideal even if it’s your first time on snowshoes. We walk through forests and wide mountain scenery, with the unmistakable shape of Cimon della Bagozza leading the view, all the way to the refuge at around 1,570 meters.
