Snowshoeing at Passo Dordona: Winter Trekking between Val Brembana and Valtellina, with Lunch in Foppolo!
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
The snowshoe hike to Passo Dordona is a winter excursion that smells of history, silence, and grand vistas. An ancient mountain pass connecting Val Brembana and Valtellina, the Dordona can now be reached with a rewarding snowshoe hike, immersed in an authentic and wild alpine environment. The route alternates between snow-covered woods, wide valleys, and panoramic stretches, with views that progressively open up to the surrounding peaks.
Walking here means following the tracks of merchants and wayfarers of the past, now accompanied only by the muffled sound of snow underfoot. The ascent is constant but never technical, ideal for Guidders who already have a minimum of experience with snowshoes and want to experience a complete excursion, made of rhythm, landscape, and personal satisfaction.
Arriving at the pass, the feeling is one of space and freedom that only winter passes can offer. Since the mountain hut at altitude is closed in the winter season, at the end of the snowshoe hike we will return to Foppolo, where we will stop for lunch, ending the day in a convivial and relaxed way, in the full Guiddy spirit.
A perfect experience for those who love the mountains in winter, places steeped in history, and sharing a beautiful day in the snow together with the Guidders community.
