The Piani dell’Avaro, in the upper Brembana Valley, transform into a small white paradise in winter: gentle snow-covered ridges, wide bright expanses, and a silence that relaxes you after just a few steps. The circular hike that leads up to Monte Foppa is one of the most panoramic in the area: an easy, safe route, perfect for enjoying the Bergamasco winter at just the right pace.
With snowshoes on our feet, we'll follow gentle lines and slight ups and downs, crossing the open plateau where the snow settles like velvet. Once we reach Monte Foppa, a unique view opens up before us: the entire Avaro plateau, the snow-covered Orobie Alps, and the sky that seems to touch the crests. One of those outings that the Guidders love because it's panoramic, peaceful, and super rejuvenating.
