Description

During the winter season, Pian di Verra is one of the most renowned and appreciated destinations for snowshoeing enthusiasts. The ascent routes generally follow the same summer itineraries, such as trail 7 that starts from Saint Jacques and Fiery, the cart road, and, when tracked, trail 8B that connects the Verra plateau with the village of Resy. Protected by the woodland vegetation, these routes are generally sheltered from the risk of avalanches and, if well-tracked, easily passable. The continuation towards Pian Superiore and Lago Blu, on the other hand, requires a more careful assessment of the snow and weather conditions, as well as the stability of the snowpack. Pian di Verra is an easily accessible and very rewarding destination, perfect for a relaxing day, but also a starting and arrival point for important high-altitude itineraries. From here, in fact, trail number 7 continues, which goes up to the Mezzalama and Lambronecca refuges.

🌿 Raised on the trails, and happily, I've never stopped exploring! I've been experiencing the mountains since I was a child, and since 2019, I've turned that passion into a full-time career as a certified Hiking Guide. I lead adults and children on hiking trails in the Apennines, the Alps, and throughout Europe, with an unwavering desire to discover, learn, and share the wonders of nature. I’m always on the go: studying, reading, writing, flying drones, raising butterflies, and leading muddy little explorers with Adventure Education projects. And yes, I'm happy. Because this is the life I dreamed of... and there's nothing else in the world I'd rather be doing! 🌈🥾🦋
