Description
A challenging snowshoe hike in terms of elevation gain, but very doable, from Dunadiv to the sweeping panoramas of Alpe Cermine. The trail ascends through the forest with switchbacks, old mule tracks, and occasional intersections with the snowmobile-packed road. Alpe Orlo welcomes you on a sunny slope that smells of ancient mountain life. From here, you push on a little further and reach the small rural gem of Alpe Cermine. The descent follows the ascent, with an open view of Val Chiavenna, Val Bregaglia, and the wide plain that was once… a lake!
