Snowshoeing to Court de Bard: Breathtaking Mont Blanc Views from Challancin
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
One of the most panoramic snowshoe excursions in the Aosta Valley, the ascent to Court de Bard offers a varied, safe, and incredibly spectacular itinerary with views of Mont Blanc.
Starting from the village of Challancin, above La Salle, we will immediately immerse ourselves in the winter atmosphere of the Aosta Valley mountains. The route begins along a farm road that crosses ancient cultivated fields and pastures, gently climbing amidst wide views of the valley.
Having reached the Arpilles mountain pastures, the trail enters a magnificent spruce forest, where the ascent becomes more evocative and silent, accompanied by the typical snowy alpine environment.
Arriving at Col de Bard, the landscape changes completely: from here we will follow the panoramic ridge that leads to Court de Bard (2260 m), an extraordinary natural balcony suspended over the central valley.
The panorama is simply incredible: Mont Blanc and the Grandes Jorasses stand out in front of us, while on the opposite side, views open onto the Grivola and the Gran Paradiso group. Behind us extends the wild Vertosan Valley.
A spectacular winter excursion, perfect for Guidders who want to experience the magic of the snow-covered mountain.

🥾 I still remember my first hikes… backpack on, boots a little too big for my feet. Every step was a discovery: the smell of damp earth, the rustling of wind through the trees, the muffled silence of high altitudes. Growing up, that feeling of freedom and wonder never left me. The mountains became my refuge, my challenge, but above all, my home. Today, I guide others to experience them with the same sense of awe, one step at a time. 🎒 Because every hike is a journey back to yourself… and to the simple beauty of walking in the world.
