Description
At the first light of dawn, the hills of the Langhe slowly awaken. A light mist caresses the vineyards, while the sky is colored with rosy hues. The starting point is Barbaresco, an ancient village nestled among the vines. The historic Tower stands out against the still pale sky, observing from above the landscape that opens towards the horizon.
The path follows trails that wind through orderly rows of vines, hazelnut groves and dirt tracks that lead to panoramic points where the gaze is lost among rolling hills, perched villages and, on clear days, the majestic profile of Monviso. The circular route also touches the gates of Alba, a city with a medieval heart and intense aromas, between pastry shops and ancient towers.
The second part of the journey leads back towards the hills, in a quieter environment immersed in nature. Upon returning to Barbaresco, the reward is twofold: a view of the tower, now illuminated by the full sun, and a well-deserved stop at the Trattoria Antica Torre. Here, among panoramic terraces and local wines, you can taste the best of Langhe cuisine: tajarin with ragù, carne cruda all'albese, braised beef in Barbaresco, and hazelnut desserts.
A day at a slow pace, where time is measured in landscapes, scents and silences, with a finale that tastes of home and tradition.
NB: it is possible not to stop for lunch but to return directly to the cars
