Sunset with dinner at Griera Mountain Hut on Lake Como
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
We set off in the late afternoon, when the air gets cooler and the light turns golden, heading for the slopes of Monte Legnone. What’s waiting for us is pure summer magic: a sunset hike, wide-open views, and dinner up in the mountains.
We reach Rifugio Griera at 1,734 m, one of the most stunning panoramic balconies in Lombardy. From here, sunset lights up the horizon between Lake Como and Monte Rosa, while the sky shifts color minute by minute. We walk in the late afternoon, enjoy the best hour of the day, and end the evening with a traditional mountain dinner. Summer means warm central hours: bring plenty of water, enjoy the cooler start, and wrap it all up with a fresh beer or a Coca-Cola.

Matteo
The mountains have always been one of my greatest passions. I’m a CSEN-certified trekking instructor, a member of the Italian Alpine Club, and whenever I can, I lace up my hiking boots to explore trails, peaks, and new breathtaking views. I love experiencing nature in a mindful and respectful way, and I believe that every hike is much more than just a walk: it’s a chance to feel good, share эмоotions, and build new connections. Beyond the outdoor world, I’m also an ENCI-certified dog trainer and a Red Cross volunteer, where I’m currently completing my training to become an emergency medical responder. These different experiences have taught me the importance of listening, responsibility, and caring for others. If you’re a Guidder who loves hiking with a smile and wants to be part of a close-knit group… then we’ll get along right away!
