Description

If you're looking for a via ferrata hike on Lake Garda that's accessible, panoramic, and incredibly rewarding, the Susatti Via Ferrata at Cima Capi is one of those routes that the Guidders always love to recommend. Here you won't find extreme difficulties, but a perfect mix of equipped path, exposed ridge, and continuous views of the lake, ideal for those who want to start with via ferratas without sacrificing the wow effect.

It starts from Biacesa (Val di Ledro, Trentino) and in a short time you get to the heart of the matter: rocks, metal cable, panoramic ridge, and an environment that opens up more and more onto Lake Garda. The ascent is gradual, never dull, with exposure present but manageable.

Once at the top of Cima Capi (about 909 m), the view sweeps between the lake, mountains, and historical traces of the First World War. The return loop makes the experience even more complete, passing between a bivouac, equipped paths, and trenches.

5 reasons to choose this excursion

  • Continuous view of Lake Garda (one of the best panoramas in the area)
  • Easy via ferrata, perfect for beginners
  • Varied and never monotonous ring route
  • Presence of historical trenches and unique environments
  • Excellent effort / satisfaction ratio

👉 If you want to approach via ferratas without stress but with great satisfaction, this is a perfect Guiddy itinerary to book and experience together with other enthusiasts.

3) What makes this trek unique

The Susatti Via Ferrata is one of the few via ferratas in Italy where you can have:

  • Low difficulty but real exposure (excellent mental training)
  • Constant lake view throughout the ascent
  • Authentic historical context among trenches and military outposts
  • Mild climate (perfect spring/autumn)

It is an “easy but not trivial” via ferrata: technically accessible, but with exposed sections that make it educational.
