Description
We are in the Adamello Park, the main and famous peak of the province of Brescia, 3539 meters high, with the largest glacier in Italy and one of the largest in Europe at its feet: the Pian di Neve. Val Salarno is one of the many arterial valleys of the glacier and one of the most evocative thanks to its artificial lakes and the landscape mainly made of Adamello granite. The excursion starts from Fabrezza di Saviore dell'Adamello, Rifugio Stella Alpina to be precise, and takes place for three quarters on a comfortable and simple mule track up to the first dam that guards Lake Salarno. Shortly after, you arrive at the second: Lake Dosaccio (or Dosazzo). After passing the lake with a good half hour's walk, we will arrive at the beautiful Rifugio Paolo Prudenzini with the majestic granite wall as a backdrop that acts as a barrier to the glacier and the Salarno Pass with the adjacent Corni di Salarno.
