The Forni Glacier Trail: A Journey on Ice
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
Created in 1995 to celebrate the centenary of the Italian Glaciological Committee, the Forni Glacier Trail is a route that offers unique emotions: wild nature, breathtaking views, and historical testimonies.
The path winds through the splendid Val dei Forni (Valfurva), leading to the front of the Forni Glacier, one of the largest in Italy. The adrenaline rises when crossing the Tibetan bridge suspended over the Frodolfo stream, which originates directly from the glacier. A passage that offers thrills and unforgettable emotions.
But it's not just nature: along the route, you'll encounter remains of the First World War (1915-1918) and panels that tell the geological history of this valley, shaped over the centuries by the action of ice. A journey that combines hiking, culture, and reflection, in a majestic and unparalleled setting.
