The Panoramic Rosetta Peak Ridge: A Balcony Over the Alps in Val Gerola
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
This excursion takes place in the beautiful Val Gerola, in the province of Sondrio, leading us to conquer the summit of Cima della Rosetta.
The route follows a scenic grassy ridge, crosses peaceful alpine pastures, and leads to an alpine lake that reflects the mountain and the sky.
Starting from the parking lot in Rasura (SO), the route climbs through woods and clearings towards the Rifugio Bar Bianco, the first point of support. After passing the refuge, follow the path that crosses alpine pastures until you reach the Prato huts and subsequently the Culino Lake basin. The small lake is located at about 1,959 m and is a splendid break from the walk, immersed in a silent and poetic environment.
From the lake, continue along clearly visible tracks towards the final ridge that leads to the summit cross of the Rosetta, which offers breathtaking views of the lower and middle Valtellina, the Disgrazia massif, and numerous surrounding Orobie peaks.
