Description
An experience that begins with the journey itself: together with Pierre from @viadamilano, we'll set off by train from Milano Lambrate station at 8.13 am to reach Bergamo, then take tram line TEB1 to get to the town of Nembro.
Here we'll bring a true loop to life, winding through woods and golden ridges above Nembro, Lonno and Salmezza.
We set off with the Guidders in the morning from Nembro, with the crisp autumn air slowly warming up. We climb with the Guidders through woods that in October blaze with red and ochre, following a loop that climbs decisively up to the 1169 metres of the highest point. The ascent gets steeper at times, but it's exactly there that the forest opens up and offers the best views. After the panoramic summit, we descend along the other side, with the golden afternoon light filtering through the branches and accompanying us back to the village.
Nembro is a land of historic trails that once connected the Bergamo valleys to Milan: walking here means retracing ancient paths, now transformed into a trekking route loved by local hikers.

Who it's suited for
A minimum level of fitness is needed: there are stretches of steep climbing, but nothing technical. Those who walk regularly will thoroughly enjoy it.
