Trekking at the Capanna 2000 Refuge and Lake Branchino: panoramic excursion on the Flower Path

The Butterfly Path, and a lake at the foot of the Arera.

We set off with the Guidders from the Baite di Mezzeno along the famous Sentiero delle Farfalle towards the Passo del Branchino. Having rounded the Corno Branchino we reach the striking Lago Branchino with the hut of the same name, set in an alpine bowl at the foot of the mighty Pizzo Arera. We then follow the Sentiero dei Fiori to Rifugio Capanna 2000: country extraordinarily rich in alpine flowers, among the finest in the Orobie.
