Trekking to Cima Piazzotti from Fenile with lunch at Rifugio Benigni

A challenging and highly rewarding trek in the heart of Val Gerola. Together with the Guidders, we will set off from Fenile to conquer Cima Piazzotti and, only after reaching the summit, descend to Rifugio Benigni for a well-deserved lunch with a spectacular view. A full day of effort, achievement, and relaxation at the mountain hut, in the authentic heart of the Orobie Alps. 

Starting from Fenile with a steep climb through the woods that gets straight to the point. The trail gains altitude through clearings and pastures, taking us into an increasingly alpine environment.

First major milestone: Cima Piazzotti, reached via a steeper and rockier section that requires good footing and fitness. From the summit, the panorama is vast and open across the entire Orobie range.

After the summit, we descend toward Rifugio Benigni, overlooking Lake Piazzotti, where a rejuvenating lunch with a view awaits us. Return via the same route.
