Trekking to Monte Armetta and Rifugio Pian dell’Arma: A panoramic excursion between the Ligurian Alps and the sea

A spectacular trek in the Maritime Alps, where mountain vistas blend with the deep blue of the Ligurian Sea. Together with the Guidders, we will set off from Val Pennavaire, in the heart of the Caprauna region, following the trails of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri through wild forests, open pastures, and scenic ridges. The ascent to Monte Armetta (1739 m) offers an incredible view: on one side, the Ligurian and Maritime Alps, and on the other, the sea so close it feels within reach. After the trek, we will relax with a convivial lunch at the Rifugio Pian dell’Arma. An authentic excursion amidst silence, nature, and endless horizons.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I’m Giorgia. I grew up between the Tanaro Valley and the Ligurian Alps—mountains overlooking the sea that have always held a special place in my heart. But there is another place that’s just as meaningful to me: the Varaita Valley, where the "Stone King" (Monviso) dominates the horizon and every trail tells ancient stories amidst incredible landscapes and peaks just waiting to be explored. For me, hiking and trail running are all about discovery. I love exploring new paths and sharing the wonders of nature with those I guide, because every experience is better when shared. I am a certified Environmental Hiking Guide, but first and foremost, I am a curious soul in love with the landscapes that raised me. You’ll find me with my backpack on, a ready smile, and a passion for listening to the wind through the crags, the silence of the woods, and all the stories the mountains have to tell.
