Trekking to Val Sanguigno and Rifugio Gianpace – a hike in the Orobie Bergamasche Park
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Easy
Description
In the heart of the Bergamo Orobie Alps, we will explore the evocative Val Sanguigno, one of the areas with the highest biodiversity in the Orobie Bergamasche Park. With the Guidders we will walk through woods and crystal-clear streams to the Gianpace Refuge, accompanied by the continuous sound of water and the wild charm of this valley.
Val Sanguigno is an authentic and little-urbanized valley, characterized by dense woods, clear streams and a great natural wealth.
The trek begins by immediately immersing yourself in the woods, along a path that goes up the valley following the course of the Sanguigno Stream. The sound of the water will accompany us for most of the route: the stream descends between rocks and small jumps forming natural pools of transparent water, one of the most fascinating elements of this excursion.
The path alternates shaded stretches in the woods with more open areas where the view widens on the mountains of the Orobie.
After about two and a half hours of walking we will reach the Gianpace Refuge, located at 1331 meters above sea level, a perfect point for a break immersed in the nature of the valley.
The return will take place along the same path, retracing the valley and observing the landscape with a different perspective.

Federica
Hey Guiders! 🧡 I was born in Milan in '85, but my heart belongs to the mountains of the Bergamo Prealps, where Mount Presolana fueled my passion for the great outdoors. After a few years as a copywriter, I decided to change direction and follow what truly felt like home: the trails. In 2020, I qualified as a Mountain Leader and chose to live closer to nature. I love guiding people to discover the breathtaking views, peaceful silences, and wonders of the mountains, sharing every step of the way with the Guidders community. 🥾⛰️
