The Triangolo Lariano ridge by e-bike: Como to Bellagio in a day

The crossing that takes two days on foot, done in one by e-bike

Same ridge, same views, one day. You load the bike onto the Brunate funicular, step out at 715 metres and ride the crest of the Triangolo Lariano: Boletto, Bolettone, Palanzone, Pian del Tivano, Monte San Primo, then down to Bellagio. Thirty-six kilometres and 2,240 metres of climbing, which pedal assist turns into a full but manageable day.

This is not a cycle path: it is a ridge trail, with technical sections, scree and a few places where the bike gets pushed. You need to know how to ride a mountain bike.

Getting back

From Bellagio you return to Como by boat — the slow one, because it is the only service that takes bicycles: the hydrofoils do not. Two hours on the water looking up at the ridge you have just ridden.

Good to know

The e-bike is not included: if you do not have one you can hire it in Como, where several shops rent them for around €40-60 a day — we point you to them when you book. You need an electric mountain bike, full or front suspension with knobbly tyres: a city bike will not get through. Bring two batteries or start fully charged: 2,240 metres of climbing eats the lot. Helmet required.
