Uncover Hidden Peaks: Hiking Adventures in the Grigne Mountains
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Difficult
Description
The proposed tour will take us to discover some minor peaks of the Grigne group and to travel along paths little beaten by the masses.
We will start from Vo' di Moncodeno just above 1400 m, heading towards the Bocchetta di Prada. This is the only busy and well-known stretch. From here we will proceed south along the wild Meira valley, losing altitude to 1,150m where we will change path and direction near the Calivazzo farmhouse. We will then start climbing again to the Bocchetta di Calivazzo. Here begins a beautiful trio of peaks with a panoramic route and in some stretches along the ridge (never exposed or particularly difficult, although not trivial).
In order, we will climb to the Eghen peak - the most technical part of the route at an altitude of 1,557 m, to Mount Pilastro - along the beautiful and panoramic ridge until reaching the highest point located at an altitude of 1,827 from which it is possible to admire the grandeur of the Grignone and finally to the balcony of Mount Croce, 1,780 m high, from which we will see Lake Como and the splendid mountains that surround it.
The return to Cainallo will take place on secondary paths, little traveled and rather "wild". Alternatively, depending on the time and the group, we will evaluate whether to take the more reassuring and well-known classic path.
