Val di Mello for Families: Lakes and Granite Walls near Val Masino
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Easy
Description
A gentle loop between rivers and granite walls that look like movie sets.
We set off with the Guidders from San Martino, backpacks light and kids already buzzing for the day. The loop runs nearly flat through the valley floor of Val di Mello, past crystal-clear lakes, sparkling streams and pine woods. All around us rise the famous granite walls, where you might spot climbers dotted like tiny spiders: locals call this Italy's "little Yosemite," and one look tells you why. We cross wooden bridges and green meadows, with the morning cool keeping things comfortable all the way.
Val di Mello became a nature reserve in 2009, the largest protected area in the region: a small paradise best enjoyed at a slow pace, eyes always up on the rock.
5 reasons to join
- a super gentle loop, perfect for first family hikes
- emerald lakes to stop and splash around

- optional stop at Rifugio Rasega for a treat

Devis
Hi Guidders! 🧡 I love nature and everything it has to offer: breathtaking views, unforgettable emotions, and meaningful encounters. For me, every hike is a chance to share this passion and make everyone feel part of a close-knit group, where the trail also becomes a moment for listening, connection, and new friendships. As a coordinator, I enjoy being a reliable point of reference, taking care of every detail so that everyone can enjoy the day with ease, fun, and the simple pleasure of being together. If you love nature and the company of the Guidders community... I’ll see you on the trail! 🥾🌿🧡
