Description
The Viso Valley is a hidden gem of the province of Brescia, an alpine valley that branches off from the Camonica Valley and is located in the heart of the Stelvio National Park. Here flows the Arcanello stream, which with its clear waters feeds pastures, woods and alpine meadows until it merges with the Frigidolfo.
The heart of the valley is the village of Case di Viso (1753 m), a small cluster of stone houses with an ancient charm: the houses, some dating back to the 19th century, retain their original architecture intact. It is a place suspended in time: no electricity, no telephone antennas, only silence, nature and history.
Memory is alive here: Case di Viso was the scene of a Nazi reprisal after the armistice of 8 September 1943, making this valley not only a natural paradise, but also a place of reflection and remembrance.
Today, the Viso Valley is a precious oasis for alpine wildlife: deer, chamois and the spectacular bearded vulture populate its slopes, offering exciting encounters to those who walk among its paths.
