Weekend in the Piccole Dolomiti: 52 Tunnels and Cima Carega between foliage and history

One weekend, two legendary treks, one place to experience them: the Piccole Dolomiti. If you're looking for an adventure steeped in history, rock, and autumn colors, you're in the right place.

We set off early Saturday morning from Milan towards Bocchetta Campiglia to tackle the legendary Strada delle 52 Gallerie (Road of the 52 Tunnels): tunnels carved into the rock during the Great War, suspension bridges, and views that will leave you speechless, with the woods ablaze in autumn colors. Lunch at Rifugio Achille Papa, then descent via the Strada degli Scarubbi: a loop of about 15 km to remember.

In the evening we'll sleep in shared apartments. There will be plenty of moments of togetherness, laughter, and good food. 

On the second day, we set off to discover  Cima Carega: ridges, the Rifugio Fraccaroli, and a 360° view over the Dolomites that's worth every step. We'll then wrap up the day heading back home together.
