Winter Trek to Rifugio Albani on Presolana: Hiking the Orobie Alps

Presolana under the snow is waiting for you, its North face taking your breath away even in winter. White woods, pure silence, shifting light with every step: the Orobie Alps in their most magical form.

We start from the Carbonera cable car square. The climb doesn't go easy on us: first a steep paved road, then the snowy forest welcomes us. We cross the Rino stream on a wooden bridge and continue on a narrow trail. Once we leave the forest behind, the view opens up: Presolana's imposing shape and the Rifugio Albani at 1939 meters. A hot tea and excellent Bergamo-style cuisine await (check winter opening hours).
