Description
A scenic and incredibly rewarding hike in the heart of Valsassina, winding through historic paths, old abandoned ski lifts, and spectacular views of the Lecco mountains. Together with Guidders, we will set off from Barzio, following the evocative 'Sentiero del Pequeno,' which traces the route of the historic, now-decommissioned chairlift. During the ascent, we will encounter the scenic Baita Masone, the ruins of the old Hotel Pequeno, and ever-widening vistas over the Piani di Bobbio. The final stretch, steeper and off-trail, will lead us to the summit of Zucco Orscellera (1,856 m), a magnificent panoramic balcony offering 360° views of the Grigne, the Resegone, and the Valsassina mountains. After a break at the Rifugio Lecco, we will return via the easy service road, completing a beautiful loop.

With a degree in engineering, I live in Lecco, where I was born and raised in the foothills of Mount Resegone. I've always loved my beautiful city, nestled between the lake and the mountains, for the spectacular scenery it offers from every angle, whether from its mountaintops or the shores of the lake.
